Creating Wealth From Home Concepts Simplified For Todays Internet
Things have sure changed over the last hundred years or so. Heck they have changed dramatically in my life in just the last 25 years. I remember back when the whole video renting craze started. Back then a person didn't normally have VCRs of their own and it was real common practice for the store to rent out a Video Cassette Recorder as well. This was really a bulky situation to haul home an old fashioned top loading VCR just so you could watch a movie.
Skip forward a couple of decades when I acquired my first cell phone. I remember calling a friend and asked her if she knew where I was calling from. She said "No" and I told her from inside Wal Mart, and I said do you know why and she No, and I said, because I can. And I hung up all pleased with my self at my acquirement of such high technology.
The internet had been around a couple of years before I acquired my first computer, but when I bought it and got online, almost from the start I jumped into the internet with both feet and started trying to find ways of creating wealth from home utilizing the online possibilities. My first successful venture came from affiliate marketing. It was an earlier form, not quite as advanced as today, but none the less, it paid me pretty well.
That was actually a bit more complicated than affiliate marketing by toady's standards. It was pre-clickbank with no instantaneous downloads or payments. A customer went to my website that I had to edit and upload myself. They had to download an .exe program that explained everything, or order the program to be delivered via postal mail. If they ordered, they mailed me $75, I kept $50 and mailed $25 to the vendor in Canada. Who delivered the product to the customer via snail mail. The only thing that expedited the process was that I emailed the vendor upon receipt of the customers order, supplied him with their details and he initiated the fulfillment of the order then.
By today's affiliate marketing standards, the whole process was clunky and cumbersome, however it had something going for it that I believe has been lost today. Do you know what that is? People back then had more of a naivete of the belief in the brite shiney objects that money making opportunities often appear to be. And there wasn't as many of them out there. Believe me, mine was as hyped as they can be. I actually ran small classified ads in joke a day email lists that people were subscribed to. My ad promised that they could make a couple of hundred grand a year or so and people actually looked at the ad, went to my spiffy one page basic html website and said "heck yeah".
If you are reading this you are probably thinking of all the times you are constantly exposed to people promoting the best way to get rich on the planet today and that also has ever existed before in the history of all mankind, correct? And what is similar about them all is that they all are set up to instantaneously take your money and deliver you a digitally down loadable information product with in a minute or two of you hitting the payment button. Oh there are other types that get into a bit more detail but the crux to the money making opportunities are somewhat like that.
If you are just starting out in contemplation that maybe the internet can help you in creating wealth from home, consider this, once you wet your feet into the world of internet marketing you will start to be deluged with almost hourly offers of the newest and latest surefire method for you to get rich from being online. If you are not totally familiar with some of the methods that are being promoted out there just go onto Craigslist job postings or just Google search the term money making opportunity. You will find after an hour or so of looking at the various possibilities that your brain is half fried and you haven't even made a dent in the available opportunities.
Can a person get rich on the internet or dare we say get rich? Yes, but what might be a better question, can you make money on the internet in today's competitive market? I would say yes, but it takes an investment of your part of your time and your money and you also have to learn to simplify the process. This is not an attempt to make you an expert or teach you all there is to know out there. Heck if I knew all that, I would be one of the big names and making millions.
But I can pass on some tips that will help you. You can't absorb everything you get sent, quit trying to. It will fry your brain and detract you from doing something productive that could make you money. Don't build a website that offers everything under the sun to all people. You might see an attraction in it and you might fashion it as the next Yahoo or something, but honestly it the sort of traffic you attract will wander all over your site, maybe even in awe, but seldom buy anything.
Narrow your sites and pin point your focus to a single product and single keyword at a time. The reality of that last statement is you want to dominate a keyword that when a person types it into Google they see your site at the top of page one. Their keyword is in relation to a product or service they want right now. They click over to your website and that is all they see, the product they want, and all the compelling reasons they should buy it from you right that second. You don't want the traffic that just arrived to be distracted by something they didn't search for and have numerous choices to consider.
Make things as easy as possible for yourself by setting up an automated process that handles everything for you when the potential customer arrives on your website. All this leaves you is the advertising which can be as easy, cheap, hard and expensive as you make it. Advertising is a reality that has to be tackled no matter what else you have to do, so by eliminating other chores makes you less work.
